Rosa M. Rojas
Rosa María has her Law Degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho (Mexico City), with an LL.M. on Corporate and Commercial Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science. She was Certified on Amparo Proceedings by the Universidad Panamericana (Mexico City), and has a Ph.D. from the Institute of Legal Research of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (IJJ-UNAM).
For many years she practiced extensively as a transactional lawyer in the Banking and Finance Group of a leading Mexican firm dealing with lending and secured transactions, real estate financing, structured cross-border financing, restructurings and workouts. She later joined the First Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice of Mexico, where she contributed to the development of legal precedents dealing with civil, commercial, finance and insolvency matters. She has expertise on financing, security interests and insolvency.
Rosa has taught in Universidad Iberoamericana, in Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) and in Universidad Panamericana. She is currently Postgraduate Professor at Escuela Libre de Derecho and has participated and coordinated many courses at the Federal Judicial School.
She has many publications in Mexico and abroad, including a book on complementary health insurance and a book on consumer insolvency. She participated on 2021 on the research project on corporate debt restructuring around the world undertaken by the World Bank Group, INSOL International and the International Association of Insolvency Regulators (IAIR).
Rosa is currently:
- Co-Chair of the Regional Committee for LATAM of the International Insolvency Institute
- Co-Chair of the LATAM Network of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC)
- Coordinator in Mexico of the Iberoamerican Institute for Law and Finance
- Sub-coordinator of the Insolvency Committee of the Mexican Bar Association.
