Luis Urbán
Dr. Luis Eduardo Urbán Rivero holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Azcapotzalco, where he also earned his Master’s and Ph.D. in Optimization. Subsequently, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Research in Mathematics (CIMAT), Aguascalientes unit.
Throughout his academic career, he has served as a professor at institutions such as UAM Azcapotzalco, CIMAT, Universidad Iberoamericana (IBERO), and Panamerican University (UP), etc. His research focuses on applying mathematical optimization, computer science, and graph theory tools to solve industrial and decision-making problems.
His work includes projects in precision agriculture, agricultural segmentation, public service route design, personnel transportation, logistics and distribution, route optimization with mobile targets, and resource assignament in educational, governmental, and military sectors.
His research has been published in international indexed journals, and he has supervised over five Master’s theses, with a graduation rate exceeding 85%.
Currently, he serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Sociedad Mexicana de Investigación de Operaciones (SMIO) and acts as a peer reviewer for specialized journals, including:
