Rodrigo Fenton Ontañón is the Program Director of ITAM’s B.A. in Financial Leadership and a finance professor. His work combines analytical rigor, professional judgment, and practical application to support sound financial decision-making.

He has extensive academic experience teaching finance. He has taught courses in valuation, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity and venture capital, and hedge funds, among related topics.

He also brings broad experience in the financial sector, having worked in private equity and real estate investment funds with responsibilities in investment decision-making, as well as in investment banking and strategy consulting. From 2009 to 2011, he served as Deputy General Director of Economic Studies at Mexico’s National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV), where he contributed to regulatory work that enabled the issuance of CKDs (development capital certificates) and FIBRAs (Mexican REITs).

He holds a B.A. in Economics from ITAM (1999) and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with a concentration in Finance and Strategy (2006). He also earned a Certificate in Alternative Assets from Harvard Business School.
