Carlos Zozaya

Visiting professor

Carlos is a Visiting Professor at ITAM, where he teaches undergraduate, graduate, and executive development courses. Previously, he was Area Director at Servicios Corporativos BAL (2015-2026), Systems Director at Grupo Nacional Provincial (2003-2015), and Director General of the Academic Division of Engineering at ITAM (1992-2003). From May to August 2018, he served as interim Systems Director at El Palacio de Hierro. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Metropolitana, and a Master's and a Doctorate in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. In 1999, he completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of the book Knowledge Based Process Planning for Construction and Manufacturing (Academic Press, 1989), 25 articles published in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences, and four book chapters published by international publishers. In 1981, he received the National Youth Award from the President of the Republic. In 2015, he was named a "Distinguished Graduate" by the Metropolitan Autonomous University on the 40th anniversary of its founding. He has been a member of the National System of Researchers and President of the Mexican Academy of Informatics. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Nacional Monte de Piedad, IAP.
