Alejandro Terán
Alejandro Teran serves as the Director for the Industrial Engineering Program at ITAM. He received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, México, his M.S. in Operations Research from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State University.
His areas of interest include Engineering Education, Quality Engineering, Production Engineering and Operations Research.
Dr. Teran’s teaching at ITAM include: Introduction to Engineering, Production Planning, Quality Engineering, Facilities Planning, Optimization, Design of Experiments, Decision Analysis, Supply Chain Management and The American Society seen through Pop and Rock Music.
He has been a Visiting professor at the Purdue University’s School of Industrial Engineering and the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of Auburn University. He is a member of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the American Society for Engineering Education and a Program Evaluator for ABET, Inc.
Before coming to ITAM, he was a Researcher at the Institute of Engineering of the National University of Mexico (UNAM) and taught courses for the UNAM School of Engineering.
