Alexandros Fakos

Alex is an assistant professor at ITAM since 2015 where he teaches courses on business strategy. He has a bachelor and a master’s degree from Athens University of Economics and Business in Greece and a PhD in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on empirically studying the responses of firms to changes due to government policy or macroeconomic shocks with a particular emphasis on the analysis of firm dynamics.

Alex has written research papers analyzing firm decisions using data from Greece and Mexico.  His research piece on entry of multinational franchises in Mexico has been published in the Journal of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management. He has also presented his research in several international conferences such as the World Congress of the Econometric Society, the International Industrial Organization Conference, and the Annual Meeting of the Society for Economic Dynamics. He is the recipient of the Young Economists’ Essay Award, at the 42nd Annual Conference of the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics.
