João Pedro Morais is a Portuguese mathematician who works in the areas of Clifford and Quaternionic analysis. In 2000, he began his postgraduate studies in Applied Mathematics and Computing at the University of Aveiro (Portugal). During the third year of studies, he was invited to complete these studies at the Institute of Mathematics and Physics, Bauhaus University of Weimar (Germany), through the ERASMUS Program. In this institution, he obtained his doctorate in mathematics with magna cum laude in 2009. Later, he worked for seven months as a postdoctoral researcher at the same university. In 2010 he was invited to join the Institute of Applied Analysis of the University of Freiberg (Germany) as a postdoctoral researcher, where he remained until 2013. In 2014 he joined the Department of Mathematics of the University of Aveiro (Portugal) as a postdoctoral researcher. João Pedro Morais has been working as Associate Professor at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico since January 2015. Recently he received his Habilitation degree in Mathematics at the University of Freiberg (Germany). He is the co-author of a textbook for graduate students published by Springer, 49 articles (including six book chapters), 24 articles on high-level international scientific conference proceedings, and two dissertations. Due to his outstanding research results in the field of Applied Computational Mathematics, in September 2013, he was awarded the "Highest Distinction" award by the European Society of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering (ESCMSE). Currently belongs to the National System of Researchers of Mexico. His research interests include complex and hypercomplex analysis, approximation theory, differential equations, and boundary value problems, orthogonal polynomials, special functions, conformal and quasi-formal mappings, signal and image processing.
