Dr. Valeria Zepeda Trejo has a PHD degree in History by the Universidad Iberoamericana and a MA degree in Modern and Contemporary History by the Instituto de Investigaciones Dr. José Ma. Luis Mora.  She is currently a full time professor at ITAM, where she studied a BA in International Relations, and throughout 11 years she has teach different courses such as Socio-Political History of Mexico; Contemporary Issues and Problems of the Mexican Reality; History of International Relations and Mexico-USA Relations. Dr. Zepeda is responsible for the editorial department of Revista Estudios, an academic publication of the Department of General Studies at ITAM, which specializes in philosophy, history and literature. She also coordinates ITAM’s Summer School exchange program for international students with the objective to provide a multidisciplinary understanding of Mexico and its current position in the global economic and political environment. She has dictated several conferences in Mexico and the United States and in 2016 she acted as a member of the Entry Subcommittee for the public contest to enter Mexico’s Foreign Service within the government’s Foreign Relations Office. Recently she co-wrote an article for Foreign Affairs Latinoamerica reinterpreting isolationism in the United States and a paper for Revista Estudios that deals with the international dimensions of Article 27 of the Mexican Constitution. Her areas of interest and research are diplomatic history and the history of US-Mexico relations with a special emphasis on the Revolution Period.
