Ph.D. in Social Science Research from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), Master in Political Sociology from the Instituto Mora, and Bachelor in Philosophy from the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac. He also pursued studies in Political Science at ITAM and in Theology at the Higher Institute of Ecclesiastical Studies of Mexico City.

 

He has held various positions in service of the Federal Judiciary of Mexico, both at the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation and at the former Federal Judicial Council, where he directed several research projects on judicial public policy, including the judicial career, case statistics, the adversarial criminal justice system, and the managerial administration of federal justice.

 

He has also carried out various responsibilities within the Government of Mexico in areas related to national security, and has provided consulting services for the design and implementation of the Institutional Strengthening and Accreditation Program for Investigative Police Officers (FORTAPOL), funded by the U.S. Department of State through the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).

 

His research focuses on the social and cultural dimensions of prosecution and justice administration institutions; the performance of security policies; and contemporary political history.

 

At ITAM, he has taught the courses Ideas and Political and Social Institutions I, II, and III, and currently teaches Problems of Contemporary Mexican Reality.
