Arturo Aguilar is an assistant professor of economics at ITAM. Arturo’s research interests lie mainly in the development, public policy, applied econometrics, and labor economics fields. His most recent work includes: (i) an RCT to analyze the effect of ad-hoc health information and incentives tied to the quality of public health service provision on pregnancy outcomes in the context of the Prospera program; (ii) the design and evaluation of a children literacy program that will recommend reading materials to beginner readers based on their abilities and interests; (iii) the analysis of the tax on sugary drinks and caloric dense products, which was implemented in Mexico starting 2014. Arturo has published work in the agriculture and immigration topics, and is also interested in the economics of education, immigration and gender areas of research.
