Rodrigo Camarena
Rodrigo joined the law faculty of ITAM in 2017 where he currently teaches the unit of Constitutional Law II to undergraduates. He holds a LL.B from the University of Guadalajara, a Master of Jurisprudence from the University of Sydney and a Ph.D. in Law from Macquarie University. He has published papers in specialized journals such as Transnational Legal Theory, Letras Jurídicas or Mexican Law Review. His research focuses on the theory of precedent and comparative constitutional law, mainly legal transplants.
Rodrigo has been a consultant of Mexican Supreme Court for the design of a system of constitutional precedent. He has presented paper in seminars and congress on legal theory and comparative law in Australia, Italy, Mexico and the USA. He has been referee for the Boletín Mexicano de Derecho Comparado y Teoría Jurídica Contemporánea (Rio de Janeiro.) He has carried out research visits at the Centro de Estudios Constitucionales of Mexican Supreme Court and Bocconi University (Milan, Italy).
He has translated to Spanish the following books: Los fundamentos filosóficos del precedente judicial, (2015: Universidad Externado de Colombia), Cambio constitucional informal (2016: Universidad Externado de Colombia) y Formas y función de la enmienda constitucional, (2017: Universidad Externado de Colombia).
