He is the Substitute Director of the Master in Data Science at ITAM and Full Time Researcher Professor. He graduated with honors from the Physics Engineering Undergraduate Program at ITESM campus Monterrey, has a Master in Theoretical Physics with cum laude honor from Utrecht University in the Netherlands and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.
He worked as the Deputy Director of the Analytics area at Banorte Insurance and Pensions. He also worked in the Risk Analytics area at BBVA Bancomer constructing statistical and machine learning models for Credit Risk Management of different portfolios.
He has lectured Theoretical Physics courses and a Computational Statistics course at a Master’s level and the Econometrics and Financial Mathematics courses at an Undergraduate level. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Nuclear Sciences Institute at UNAM. He has published articles in Theoretical Physics topics and is currently performing research in Applied Statistics, Data Science, Financial Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. He is also interested in the interfaces between all these areas, including their anthropological, philosophical and sociological impact.
