She studied her bachelor degree in Mathematics at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, in Spain, and obtained her PhD in Operations Research at the University of Southampton, U.K. In 2009 she was appointed as full time lecturer at ITAM, and from 2011 is a member of the National Research System (SIN – Level 1 since 2017).

Her research interests have been focus in heuristic design to solve routing, inventory and scheduling problems among others. Recently, she’s been interested in cutting and packing problems, and was awarded with a Royal Society Newton Fund Project to stablish a research group and study this kind of problems in México.
