Rodrigo Chacón

Rodrigo Chacón is a full-time professor at the Department of International Studies at ITAM and a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI, level I).  He holds a B.A. in International Relations from ITAM and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the New School for Social Research. Since 2004, he has taught Political Science, Social Theory and International Relations at Eugene Lang College in New York, the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, Boston College, Harvard University and ITAM.

He has taught courses on Ancient and Contemporary Political Theory, the political thought of Hannah Arendt and Leo Strauss, Introduction to Social Studies, Heidegger, Phenomenology and Social Thought, Theories of International Relations, Research Methodology, U.S. History and Introduction to International Relations.

He has published in several academic journals, such as The Review of Politics, European Journal of Political Theory and Idealistic Studies. Recently he has also contributed to the journals Estudios, Foreign Affairs en Español and the blog of Nexos magazine.

He has held scholarships from CONACYT, the Ford-MacArthur-Hewlett, and Fulbright-García Robles foundations. In 2012 he was distinguished with the Stanley Hoffmann Price for Excellence in Teaching from the Committee on Degrees in Social Studies at Harvard University.
