He is a retired partner of KPMG Mexico having collaborated for about 25 years in that firm. His practice included several audit engagements as partner in charge and included, between others, enterprises involved in the financial markets as well as others involved in tourism, communication and entertainment. Some of these enterprises are: Banamex, Citibank Mexico, Real Turismo (hotels and real estate developments), Grupo Inmobiliario DINE (real estate developments – Bosque de las Lomas and others), Princess Hotels – Mexico, Marriott and Hyatt Hotels in Mexico, Puerto Aventuras, among others.
His professional experience also included two years as V.P. in charge of financial and Tax Planning in Citibank Mexico. In addition, he has collaborated for about 18 years in PricewaterhouseCoopers (presently PWC) in Argentina (place of birth), Central America and Mexico.
He has 16 years of teaching experience in the area of Audit, Internal Control and Risks, at ITAM. After his retirement from KPMG, he has participated as statutory auditor and independent counsel in several Audit Committees Boards and Boards of Directors. At present, he is an independent counsel of Un Kilo de Ayuda A.C. (a non-profit organization) and other affiliated companies, as chairman of the Audit Committee Board.
He is a member of the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants (IMCP) where he actively participates in its Financial Information Committee. He was chairman of this Committee during the period 2003 to 2005, when the IMCP was the issuer of accounting standards in Mexico. Additionally, he is also a member of the Financial Instruments Committee headed by the Mexican Committee for Financial Accounting Standards (CINIF), current issuer of accounting standards in Mexico.
